Fort Worth Temple Announced

On Sunday October 3, 2021, during the closing remarks of the Fall 2021 General Conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced 13 new temples to be built around the world. Members of the Hurst Texas Stake were shocked and delighted as President Nelson announced the 10th Temple to be built, The Fort Worth Texas Temple. The Fort Worth Temple will be the sixth temple in Texas and the second in the DFW metroplex. The Dallas Temple was dedicated on October 19, 1984, just three years after it was announced on April 1, 1981 during General Conference. A location and construction time frame has not been announced yet. Nor has it been announced if it will be a full sized temple like the Dallas Temple or a smaller one like the Oklahoma City Temple. The Church has not released designs, renderings or plans for the Fort Worth Temple.
