Elder Jay B. Jones to Preside at Hurst Stake Conference March, 2022

Twice a year the Hurst Texas Stake holds a conference in place of regular Sunday services. Usually the stake president presides at one conference each year and an assigned Area Seventy or General Authority presides at the other.

This March 26–27th, the Hurst Texas Stake will welcome Elder Jay B. Jones, Area Seventy as its presiding authority.

Elder Jay B. Jones, 63, is from Fairview, Texas. He is a member of the National Advisory Council, Marriott School of Management, at BYU. He is the founder and CEO of American Equity Partners Inc., and has served as managing partner for multi-family properties, office buildings, and pre-development land in Texas. Jones earned is bachelor’s degree in business management with a finance emphasis from BYU.

Elder Jones is a former stake president, bishop, counselor in a bishopric, mission president, and counselor in a stake presidency. He has also recently presided over JustServe and public affairs for our area. He is married to Connie Belt and they have eight children.

Area Seventies give part-time voluntary Church service within an assigned geographical area and support area presidencies in international areas. They are not called to full-time service and typically serve for five years. Their duties include meeting and counseling with local Church leaders to help them fulfill their responsibilities and act under the direction of the Twelve Apostles.
