A Search for Answers

From her early years, Lele felt a void in her life and a yearning to understand the purpose of her existence. Despite attending various churches with her family members, her questions remained unanswered. It was not until a chance encounter in Hawaii that she found kindred spirits who shared her struggles. As she sat by the fire, a friend named Kai bore his testimony, revealing his own path of redemption and unwavering belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ. This encounter marked the beginning of Lele’s transformation.

The Awakening to Family History

Throughout her childhood, Lele had always been intrigued by family history and was largely influenced by her maternal grandmother's passionate endeavors in this field. However, it was not until later in life that she fully embraced this fascination. With the responsibility of leading the Family History efforts in her ward (congregation), her connection to this sacred work deepened. She discovered the significance of connecting with her ancestors and the immense spiritual strength that could be gained from fulfilling their unfinished work.*

Trials and Triumphs

As Lele embarked on her calling, she encountered numerous challenges, but one particular experience stood out. Planning an evening devotional event, she faced unexpected cancellations from key participants. Overwhelmed and uncertain, she turned to prayer for guidance. In a remarkable moment, she received a clear impression to contact a specific individual named Ema for help. Against all odds, Ema stepped in and, with divine orchestration, the evening became an unforgettable event. It was a testament to the power of faith and the belief that the Lord guides those who trust in Him.

Touching Lives Through Family History

As Lele dedicated herself to helping others discover their own family history, she witnessed the profound impact it had on individuals' lives. The excitement and joy that accompanied the discovery of long-lost relatives and the subsequent temple work brought a newfound sense of purpose and fulfillment to those she assisted. Additionally, Lele shared her personal experiences of deceased family members visiting her in dreams, reinforcing the spiritual connection she felt to those who came before her.

The Call to Preserve the Bonds

For Lele, family history is more than just a personal endeavor. It is a sacred duty. Inspired by the scripture from Malachi 4:6, she carries a deep sense of responsibility to ensure that no family member is forgotten and that their work is completed. The thought of facing loved ones on the other side, without having fulfilled this responsibility, fuels her determination and commitment to this vital cause.
