Strive to Be Concert, Trust in the Lord

The concert, originating from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, will feature live performances of songs on this year’s youth theme album, including the 2022 theme song, “Trust in the Lord.” The album (available for free download) features a variety of uplifting, modern songs for youth worldwide. The recorded concert is one of several resources that support the 2022 youth theme, which include the website, album and video.

How To Watch

On June 4, watch the live stream in English on broadcast.churchofjesusChrist.org (available for two weeks) and on the Strive to Be YouTube channel and Instagram page.

The recorded concert will then be available to watch on-demand on Gospel Media and Gospel Library.

Ryan Johnson, one of the concert performers, said the words in the song he will sing, “Possible With Him,” “remind us that God can do anything, that he does miracles, that with him by our side, we can’t lose. That’s a very important and relatable message to pretty much anyone on this earth going through similar things.”

Hada Veronica, who will perform “Look to You” in Spanish, said, “The words in ‘Look to You’ specifically make me feel like I’m closer to my Heavenly Father and looking for him everywhere.”

Stream the Album

The youth theme album can be streamed on a total of 35 different streaming platforms, including the 2022 youth theme website, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Gospel Library, and the Sacred Music app. Language versions of the album will be added to these platforms as they become available.

“I think youth connect with music a lot,” said Nik Day, the writer and composer of the youth theme album, “and the messages in the songs are simple and catchy, which help remind them about the gospel and the importance of staying close to Christ.”

Johnson agrees. “I feel like music is probably one of the most, if not the most powerful way that young people can connect in this generation with God. ... Having music that can be fun to listen to but inspire them on the daily is extremely important.”

“Church songs don’t have to be boring, said Veronica. “Inspiring, good music brings us closer to our Heavenly Father. It doesn’t just have to sound like a hymn.”
