What is a Stake?
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has thousands of congregations (called “wards”) all over the world. Ten of those are in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford area of Texas. Together, they form a unit called a stake.
The word comes from the biblical prophet Isaiah, who compared gathering God’s people to building a large tent. He wrote, “Lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes” (Isaiah 54:2).
The Hurst Stake offers Sunday services, classes, activities, and chances to serve in the community. Everyone is welcome; please join us!
